For the NUC340, Flight uses a lovely laminated Dao. Dao also terms as Paldao or Dracontomelum Dao, is a southeast Asian heartwood that is greyish-brown in colour with a faint green cast and distinctive dark streaks varying from brown to black. Dao has a vivid, warm sound that is close to mahogany in tone. The Dao ukuleles' neck and fingerboard features African okoume and Walnut. It's a perfect mix that maintains smooth intonation around the fretboard, is simple on the fingertips, and looks fantastic. The Flight has also added fancy abalone fret markers to the fingerboard to set this uke apart from the others in the Supernatural series.

The nut can seem to be a secondary concern, but it has a significant impact on the sound quality of an instrument. The DUC430's nut and saddle features bone rather than plastic.
