Laminate Sapele is used to create the Flight NUS380 Topaz. Sapele is a medium hardwood native to tropical Africa that ranges in colour from golden to dark reddish-brown. Flight applied a beautiful finish to give it a striking and special look. Grains are locked and have a uniform appearance, which makes them similar to mahogany, with a heavy natural luster. The arched back of this ukulele enhances and concentrates its natural resonance, resulting in a simple and bright sound. The rosettes are hand-drawn and laser-engraved on all of the Flight ukuleles. African okoume and walnut were used to construct the neck and fingerboard.
